Buchertown Hall

  • Went to Butchertown on Saturday night before a Zach Bryan concert. Had reservations for 4 people at 5pm.

Couple of points to note:

None of the staff seemed that welcoming. Almost like they don’t hire folks from Tennessee who generally are some of the nicest.

We also got sat back in the small section near the open kitchen. There were 5 or so tables. The seats were pretty uncomfortable as the chairs were literally just steel chairs. The most difficult situation however was the complete lack of A/C. Granted it was 100 degrees outside but still not sure why they didn’t have the A/C cranking in the back room.

Ok on to the food. I would say this was reasonable but not great. The general feeling was folks would not want to go back but wouldn’t turn down an invite for dinner with good friends.

As for food we orders the bone marrow. Seemed a bit slippery to me but the flavor was ok. Again ok not great. We also ordered a number of meals. 3 folks ordered tacos and 1 had a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger wasn’t bad but it was just ok. The pickles to give you a feel tasted like cucumbers and it felt like this summed up the restaurant. Close but not quite there.

Shrimp tacos were good, quinoa tacos tasted like uncooked quinoa. Truffle fries lacked truffle flavor, Mexican Street corn was good but was better when we added mayonnaise to them from the burger. Pretty much sums up our experience.
