Trivoli Tavern
I’ve been to Trivoli Tavern a few times now, and it keeps climbing the list. From the moment you walk through that cobblestone courtyard, it gives serious tucked-away-in-Europe energy—like a hidden bistro you stumble into in London or Paris. You’re still in the West Loop, but for a second, it doesn’t feel like it.
This spot comes from the same team behind Armitage Ale House and other favorites, and it shows. They just know how to create a space that feels like an experience. The lighting, the music, the old-world charm—it all works.
The Food
Big menu. Well-rounded. And—major win—plenty of gluten-free options. They don’t treat gluten-free like an afterthought either. I’ve had a range of dishes here over my visits, and everything has landed. Whether you’re doing steak, seafood, a hearty entrée, or just a few smaller plates, it all comes out solid and flavorful.
They’re careful, too—gluten-free is clearly noted and handled with confidence. I never leave feeling like I missed out or had to settle.
The Atmosphere
This is one of those restaurants that feels special without trying too hard. You could come here for a date, a business dinner, or just a random Tuesday where you want to eat well and feel like you’re somewhere a little cooler than your regular routine. That courtyard walk-in really does something—puts you in the mood to linger.
The Verdict
Tavern is a strong recommend for me. I’ve been 2–3 times now and plan to keep going. Great food, great service, gluten-free friendly, and an ambiance that just nails it.
It’s an easy one to suggest when people ask for a place that feels elevated without being stuffy. Check my Beli (@graffiajr)—this one gets a gold star.
