Tortoise Supper Club
After a long day of apartment hunting, the whole family headed to Tortoise Supper Club for dinner. It was a great call for a more classic night out—white tablecloths, warm ambiance, and live jazz playing in the background (on select nights), which really set the tone.
The Food
The table eased into the meal with some complimentary bread (which everyone loved) and a dozen oysters—fresh, clean, and a strong start.
The ladies kept it light with soups and salads, while Anthony and I went for the prime rib. It was good but not a showstopper—solid execution, just not that “wow” cut you remember the next day.
The Vibe
This is where Tortoise shines—cozy, classy, and a little timeless, with that vintage Chicago supper club feel. The jazz really adds to the experience, and it’s the kind of place where you linger a bit longer than expected.
The Verdict
Tortoise Supper Club is more about the atmosphere than a culinary revelation, but the food holds up. If you’re looking for a place that’s charming, comfortable, and a little old-school elegant, it’s a solid choice.
