Ocean Prime

Ocean Prime

We hit up Ocean Prime Chicago for a late Monday night dinner—low-key and unplanned, but a solid way to start the week. We’ve been to the Beverly Hills location before, so this was a bit of a compare-and-contrast situation. Happy to report: Chicago holds its own.

The Food

We started with the deviled eggs—a fun little opener. Creamy, classic, but with enough of a twist to feel upscale.

Anthony went with the ahi tuna, which was clean, well-prepared, and plated nicely. No surprises—just exactly what you want from a dish like that.

I had the shellfish chopped salad and the pork chop. The salad was fresh and generously portioned, with just enough seafood to make it feel substantial. The pork chop was a strong closer—juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right.

The Vibe

This location is what you’d expect from Ocean Prime—sleek, modern steakhouse energy with a bit of that power dinner crowd feel, even on a Monday. Service was attentive but not over the top, and the room was lively without being too loud.

The Verdict

Ocean Prime isn’t trying to be the most adventurous restaurant in Chicago—but it doesn’t need to be. It’s reliable, polished, and delivers exactly what it promises: quality food in a grown-up setting. Great for a late dinner, a business meal, or when you just want something that feels a little upscale without going full white-tablecloth.

Chicago or Beverly Hills—both locations do it right
