La Joise

La Joise

We did La Josie and it did not disappoint. This is just really solid, elevated Mexican food with a cool vibe and top-tier execution. Everyone at the table was happy—and we’d all go back without hesitation.

What We Ordered

We started with the guacamole and queso fundido, which came out hot and cheesy and perfect for setting the tone. From there

  • Staci had the enchiladas, which she loved—clean, flavorful, no heavy sauce mess.

  • Anthony went for the al pastor tacos, which were packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat.

  • I had the skirt steak, which was cooked perfectly and plated with intention. Tons of flavor, no overthinking.

Gluten-Free Game

La Josie is excellent for gluten-free. The staff knows what’s safe, makes sure everything is clear, and there’s zero guessing. For anyone with celiac or allergies, this place feels like a win before you even order.

The Verdict

This one earns a spot on the top-tier Mexican team in Chicago. The space is sharp but still relaxed, the menu delivers across the board, and the gluten-free friendliness seals the deal. It’s the kind of place that feels just as right for a casual night out as it does for a bigger celebration.
