I’ve been to Next three times, and it keeps me coming back for two main reasons:
It’s one of the more reasonably priced tasting menus in the city, and
When they hit, they really hit.
Each season is a totally different concept, which makes the experience feel fresh—but also a little roll-of-the-dice.
The Food
Out of the three meals I’ve had:
Two were fantastic—smart, balanced, and creative without losing sight of flavor.
One was just okay (looking at you, Ferris wheel theme). That particular menu leaned more into concept than cuisine, and it just didn’t land for me.
That said, the technical execution is always there, and the service is sharp every time. Even the misses still feel like thoughtful attempts—they’re just not always to my taste.
The Vibe
Next has that Alinea DNA, but without the same level of polish and pressure. The space is cool, the pacing is good, and the whole experience feels high-end without being overly serious.
The Verdict
Next is a strong recommendation—especially for people who love variety and want to experience a rotating tasting menu format without blowing the budget. Just make sure to check the theme before you book. The concept drives everything, and your experience will totally depend on what they’re exploring that season.
Three visits in, and I’ll absolutely go again.
